Abstract
INDONESIA :
SMPN 2 Wagir adalah sekolah yang memiliki input siswa berlatar belakang kekurangan motivasi belajar, karena kebanyakan siswa berada di plosok desa yang jauh dari semangat belajar di karenakan lingkungannya tidak mendukung seperti teman-temannya yang kebanyakan tidak lanjut sekolah mempengaruhinya, dan kedua orang tuanya yang berpisah sehingga kurang mendapatkan perhatian, serta orang tua yang setiap pagi hari pergi kerja sampai sore, kurang memantau anak-anaknya dalam pergaulan maupun dalam lingkup pendidikan, dan kebanyakan disana setelah lulus SMPN tidak melanjutkan ke jejang yang lebih tinggi, melainkan langsung bekerja mambantu orang tuanya dan bukan berorentasi untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa hingga menempuh jejang perguruan tinggi.
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan di SMPN Negeri 2 Wagir: (1)Bagaimana motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII; (2) peran guru IPS dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar kelas VIII; (3) hambatan-hambatan guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar kelas VIII. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data/menarik kesimpulan.
Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII pada materi IPS dapat di bilang masih kurang termotivasi ini dapat di lihat ketika awal pembelajaran masih banyak siswa yang belum siap dalam melaksanakan kegiatan belajar, serta masih ada siswa yang bercanda di dalam kelas ketika pembelajaran berlangsung, dan di lihat dari absensi siswa banyak yang tidak masuk sekolah.(2) peran guru IPS dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar di smpn 2 wagir memberikan hadiah atau pujian kepada siswa yang mampu memenuhi tugas, mengajar dengan gaya yang menarik dan lucu, menggunakan metode diskusi atau tanya jawab, serta menggunakan media atau alat pembelajaran yang menyenangkan seperti lcd proyektor, internet.(3) hambatan meningkatkan motivasi di smpn 2 wagir. sarana prasarana yang kurang mendukung, hubungan siswa siswi di sekolah, hubungan siswa-siswi dengan lingkungan keluarga, teman, masyarakat yang kurang mendukung dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah.

SMPN 2 of Wagir is a school that has students' inputs with a lack of learning motivation, the most students are in village plots that are far from the spirit of learning because the environment is not support as the friends who mostly do not go to school future and it can influence them, and both parents are broken so less attention, and parents went to work until the afternoon in every morning, less monitoring to their children in the association and in the scope of education, and after graduating from junior High school don’t continue to higher level, but directly work to help parents and it doesn’t refer to improve students' learning motivation to the high level education.
The research aims at describing in Public Junior High School (SMPN) 2 of Wagir: (1) How is the student’s learning motivation of Eight grade; (2) the roles of Social Studies (IPS) Teachers in improving the student’s learning motivation of Eight grade; (3) the obstacles of teachers in Improving the student’s learning motivation of eight grade. The research used qualitative approach with descriptive type. Techniques of collecting data were through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive analysis technique through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification/ conclusion.
The results of the research were: (1) the learning motivation of the student’s learning motivation of eight grade of Social Studies material can be said that still less motivated and it can be seen in the beginning of learning that there are still many students who are not ready in carrying out the learning activities, and there are still students who always do jokes in the class (2) the roles of Social Studies teachers in improving learning motivation in SMPN 2 of wagir give gifts or praise to students who are able to fulfill the task, teach with an interesting and funny style, use the method of discussion or ask and questions, and use fun media or learning tools such as lcd projector, internet (3) the obstacles in increasing the learning motivation in SMPN 2 of wagir are lack of supported infrastructure, relationships of the students at schools, relationships between students with family environment, friends, and the societies who do not support in the learning activities at school
