Abstract
INDONESIA :
Hadirnya swalayan X sebagai tempat pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup bagi masyarakat menengah ke bawah maupun para pendatang yang berada di kota Malang. Padahal swalayan merupakan salah satu bentuk perusahaan jasa yang mana karyawan sebagai pemberi jasa harus memberikan pelayanan dengan baik pada konsumen. Karyawan yang memberikan pelayanan kurang baik pada konsumen ini dikarenakan adanya beban kerja yang dirasakan namun tidak dibarengi adversity quotient yang cukup akan membuat cara kerja karyawan semakin tidak terkontrol. Maka diperlukan emotional quotient sebagai pengaruh yang ikut terlibat antara beban kerja dan adversity quotient. Berdasarkan hal ini tujuan dari pemelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat adversity quotient, tingkat emotional quotient, dan tingkat beban kerja karyawan. Selain itu untuk mengetahui pula pengaruh beban kerja terhadap adversity quotient dan pengaruh beban kerja terhadap adversity quotient melalui emotional quotient sebagai variabel moderator karyawan swalayan X kota Malang.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis jalur metode MRA (moderated regression analysis). Sampel yang diambil 108 karyawan dengan teknik purposive sampling yang mana hanya terbatas pada karyawan yang berhubungan langsung dengan konsumen yaitu bagian penjaga etalasi, butik, alat kantor, sepatu, perlengkapan bayi, maupun kasir, dan security.
Hasil pengolahan data tingkat adversity quotient cenderung rendah dengan persentase 59,4%, tingkat emotional quotient sedang persentase 76,9 % dan tingkat beban kerja cenderung tinggi presentase 79,4%. Hasil analisis didapatkan bahwa adversity quotient dipengaruhi secara langsung beban kerja dengan nilai pengaruh negatif dan signifikan sebesar -0,043. Adapun hasil analisis jalur berdasarkan metode interaksi menyatakan bahwa emotional quotient memiliki pengaruh yang dapat melemahkan adversity quotient dalam mempengaruhi beban kerja dengan nilai -0,106. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa emotional quotient menjadi moderator yang dapat melemahkan pengaruh beban kerja terhadap adversity quotient karyawan swalayan X kota Malang.

The presence of self-service X as a place to fully the needs of life for the middle-lower society and the immigrants who are in the city of Malang. The fact consumers assume that the services offered less good. Though self-service market is the one form of service companies where employees as a service provider must provide good service to consumers. Employees who provide poor service to consumers is due to the workload that is felt but not accompanied by enough adversity quotient will make the workings of employees increasingly uncontrolled. An emotional quotient is required as the influence that is involved between the workload and the adversity quotient. Based on this objective of this research is to know the level of adversity quotient, the level of emotional quotient, and the level of workload of employees. In addition to know also the influence of workload on adversity quotient and the influence of workload on adversity quotient through emotional quotient as a moderating variable of self-service employees X of Malang.
The research method used is the research of quantitative approach with path analysis of MRA method (moderated regression analysis). Sample taken 108 employees with purposive sampling technique which is only limited to employees directly related to the consumer that is the guard etalasi, boutique, office equipment, shoes, baby equipment, cashier, and security.
Results of data processing adversity quotient low level with percentage 59.4%, emotional quotient rate is percentage 76.9% and high workload rate percentage 79.4%. The result of the analysis shows that adversity quotient is directly influenced by negative and significant influence value of -0,043. The result of path analysis based on interaction method states that emotional quotient has influence which can weaken adversity quotient in influencing work load with value -0.106. Then it can be concluded that emotional quotient be a moderator that can weaken the influence of workload on adversity quotient of self-service employees X of Malang.
